On December 27, JYP released an official statement via its social media channels titled “Update on lawsuits related to infringement of artists’ rights.” The agency announced that it is actively pursuing strong legal measures to protect Stray Kids from defamation, slander and malicious online attacks that violate the group’s fundamental rights.
According to the statement, JYP collaborated with professional monitoring agencies to collect real-time evidence from both domestic and international online communities and social media platforms. This includes posts and comments containing false information, defamatory comments, malicious mockery, and targeted harassment of the group.
Based on the accumulated evidence, the company has continuously filed criminal complaints and civil actions against the perpetrators of the crimes. JYP revealed that investigating authorities have recently obtained warrants and successfully identified some of the accused individuals, with formal investigations now underway.
The agency also noted that, through cooperation with courts and investigative bodies both in Korea and abroad, it has been able to confirm the identity of people who posted harmful content on foreign platforms as well.
JYP underlined his unshakable position, stating: “We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and the courts to ensure that perpetrators receive severe punishment. There will be absolutely no leniency or settlement at any stage of this process.”
Additionally, the company expressed gratitude to STAY, the global Stray Kids fandom, for their continued support. JYP encouraged fans to actively submit reports and evidence related to illegal activities, stressing that materials provided by fans play a crucial role in legal proceedings.
The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of the agency’s commitment: “We will always put our artists first and do our best to protect their rights and well-being.”
As Stray Kids continues to expand its global presence, JYP’s announcement sends a strong message that harmful behavior online or otherwise will not be tolerated.
