SBS’ annual year-end music festival, ‘Gayo Daejeon‘, experienced a serious accident broadcast live on December 25 at Incheon Yeongjongdo Inspire Arena. The event was broadcast live on SBS and featured an incredible lineup of K-Pop stars.
The 2025 edition of Gayo Daejeonthemed “Golden Loop” celebrated the most successful K-Pop artists of the year while previewing a bright future for the industry. The festival featured performances from ENHYPEN, ATEEZ, TO1, TXT, BOYNEXTDOOR, CORTIS, NEXGI, KICKFLIP, TVXQ’s Yunho, Stray Kids, ZEROBASEONE, R1SE, NCT’s Taeyong, NCT DREAM, NCT WISH, aespa, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, ITZY, NMIXX, i-LILIT, Hearts2Hearts, KiKi, Miyao, IZ*ONE and BABYMONSTER, among others. Fans were treated to huge hit songs and exclusive covers unique to the event.
While many shows were praised for their energy and production value, the festival was not without its flaws. Several stages reportedly suffered from poor sound quality, preventing viewers from fully enjoying live vocals.
The most notable problem occurred during NCT DREAM’s closing performance. A camera apparently fell onto the stage and the resulting distorted footage was broadcast live. Fans and viewers criticized the production team for this critical error, pointing out that NCT DREAM’s meticulous stage preparation was undermined by the technical malfunction.
Despite the high-profile lineup and impressive performances, the broadcast glitch left lingering disappointment among viewers, highlighting the challenges of producing live events at large-scale K-Pop festivals.
