Kim Jong-kook transformed by marriage: “Now I vacuum cleaner every day”

Singer Kim Jong-kook, previously known for his messy habits, revealed on the December 25 episode of KBS2’s Problematic Men on the Rooftop how marriage has transformed his lifestyle.

During the show, Kim Bung-nyeon, an expert in child and adolescent psychiatry from Seoul National University, discussed ADHD symptoms and organizational habits. Guest Hong Jin-kyung asked if the difficulty in tidying up could be related, and the expert explained that everyone has their own method of organizing. Co-host Joo Woo-jae then cited Kim Jong-kook as an example, pointing out that while he piled up clothes chaotically, his wife’s influence encouraged him to adopt a more orderly lifestyle.

Previously, on SBS’s Running Man program in February, a special segment “SOS Extreme Cleaning Zone” showcased Kim Jong-kook’s chaotic home, with co-host Yoo Jae-suk exclaiming, “He was living with garbage! We had to help him.”

Reflecting on the change, Kim Jong-kook said, “I’ve lived by my own rules, but now I have a structured house. I hang clothes neatly, line up everything, and vacuum every day. My house is organized, and I live by that system.” Psychiatrist Kim Bung-nyeon noted that Kim Jong-kook probably didn’t like interference before, but his love for his wife motivated the positive changes.

Kim Jong-kook married a non-celebrity in September 2025, and the couple now resides in a newly purchased KRW 6.2 billion house, which has helped reinforce his new habits.

Marriage has not only strengthened Kim Jong-kook’s personal life, but also positively influenced his daily routine, turning him into a model of order and home care.
