On August 31, 2024, NCT’s Haechan reached out to fans with a heartfelt and emotional message via his communication subscription service. This was the first time he reached out to fans after the recent scandal involving former member Taeil. Haechan’s message, written during his flight to Bogota, Colombia for NCT Dream’s Latam tour, reflected on his journey and the bond he shares with his fellow members and fans.
As Haechan enjoyed his in-flight meal, he took a moment to share his thoughts, expressing his disbelief that NCT is celebrating its eighth anniversary. Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledged that while his love for singing and dancing led him to this career, he has since learned that there are many other aspects to consider in his work. He emphasized the importance of hard work and staying grounded, crediting his members for their support over the years.
Haechan expressed his gratitude for the camaraderie and teamwork that has allowed him and his group to achieve so much. He marveled at the realization that the members he jokes with are also beloved celebrities, beloved by countless fans. He acknowledged that their collective efforts, though they may seem insignificant to some, were the result of years of dedication and perseverance, resulting in the release of numerous albums and countless hits.
Getting emotional, Haechan expressed his deep love for the group and vowed to always do his best for NCT. He reflected on the challenges he faced while promoting in two groups, acknowledging the physical and mental toll it took on him. However, he expressed immense gratitude to his bandmates for keeping him strong during those difficult times, admitting that his heart swelled with emotion.

“Haechan has arrived in Bogota! I’ve had a lot of thoughts in my head all day, so I thought I’d tell you some of them while I eat my in-flight meal, haha.
How come this year is our 8th anniversary… To be honest, I started this job with a passion for singing and dancing, but I realized that there are many other things that are more important and that I need to take into consideration, besides singing and dancing. Of course, I’m still learning, but the thing I’ve learned the most is that we always have to work hard so as not to be fooled… These things aren’t something I created on my own because I’m so good, but if my members hadn’t been by my side, would I have been able to get this far? Would I have been able to have as much fun as I do now? No, would I have had the opportunity to have fun too? Sometimes when I see the members lined up in front of countless NCTzens during the shows, I feel a little weird inside. Like, “Oh, right, the members are celebrities LOL. These people that I love and depend on while joking and playing with them, they are really amazing people who are loved by so many people.” There are times when I’m fascinated in this way. I am able to do all these things because I have such members by my side! Even though all these things we have accomplished may seem like nothing to some people, we have worked really hard. During these eight years, we have released so many albums that I can’t even count them. We have worked really hard.
Since I promoted two groups, I am so grateful that both groups were loved by many and that we were able to be recognized even a little bit, and win first place many times. But to be honest, most of the time, my schedule was tough physically and mentally. Despite that, I am so grateful to my members for always keeping me together so that I didn’t give up in the midst of it all. I am so grateful… So much so that my heart clouds…
I can’t do things halfway, not even a little bit. I say this because, just like I have done so far, I will work hard in the future for my members. These three letters, “NCT”, are my everything. It is the name that I must protect together with my members. I will work hard so that I can continue to shine. So, everyone, please continue to watch us in the future. Please cheer for us a lot and please expect a lot from us. Please love us a lot. I will really do my best for good music and good performances.
