2025 [MAMA] The awards, held at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on November 29, opened with a tribute to the city’s recent tragic fire. Both presenters and performers wore black ribbons and maintained a solemn atmosphere to honor the victims. Despite the gloomy atmosphere, the awards were presented – with Stray children winner of Album of the Year and G‑Dragon receiving Artist of the Year, among other notable accolades.
The ceremony began with a message of condolence for the victims of the Hong Kong fire, under the motto “Support Hong Kong”. Presenters appeared wearing black ribbons. The host, Kim Hye‑soo, expressed deep sorrow, offering heartfelt condolences to those affected and hoping for Hong Kong’s recovery.
Many presenters and artists participated in the tribute. They offered words of comfort and solidarity – expressing sympathy for the victims, gratitude towards the rescuers and hopes for healing through the power of music.
The awards were held in a respectful and subdued atmosphere, balancing remembrance with recognition of musical achievement.
Winners and highlights
Album of the Year: Stray children – their first MOM first prize, received with tears and deep gratitude. They thanked their members and fans for supporting them during difficult times.
Artist of the Year: G‑Dragon – also took home Best Dance Performance (Male Solo) and Best Male Artist, earning a triple crown. He expressed mixed emotions.
