K-pop superstar G-Dragon has made a heartfelt donation of 1 million Hong Kong dollars (approximately KRW 188 million) to support the victims of the tragic apartment fire in Hong Kong that claimed 128 lives. The donation will go to the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court Support Fund, a relief fund established by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to assist disaster recovery efforts.
G-Dragon specifically requested that his donation be used to support firefighters and volunteers actively involved in rescue and recovery operations. The contribution also aims to promote the psychological recovery of affected residents.

The Hope Foundation explained the purpose of the donation: “We hope to convey a message of ‘collective recovery’ from disasters and demonstrate the spirit of solidarity across borders. Through the healing power of art, we aim to help Hong Kong citizens overcome the trauma of this disaster and return to daily life.”
Since June this year, the foundation has been carrying out its art therapy project “Hero Recovery” to support firefighters responding to climate-related disasters, including forest fires, highlighting G-Dragon’s ongoing commitment to social and community well-being.
This gesture from G-Dragon highlights the growing role of K-pop stars in global humanitarian efforts, combining fame with meaningful action in times of crisis.
