On the November 28 broadcast of SBS My grumpy secretaryLee Seo-jin and fellow actor Kim Kwang-gyu served as day managers for ALLDAY PROJECT members.
During the show, Lee Seo-jin shared his long-standing relationship with ALLDAY PROJECT Annie’s family, especially his parents, Chung Yoo-kyung, president of Shinsegae, and Moon Sung-wook, CEO of Shinsegae Live Shopping. Lee Seo-jin said: “I knew Annie’s family before she was born,” surprising the spectators.
Recalling the accident that caused the scar, Lee Seo-jin explained: “Annie’s mother was on a business trip. While I was drinking with her father, I fell asleep and when I woke up, he asked me, ‘Why does your face look like that?’ Blood was pouring from my face.
He added, “Annie was there too. She said, ‘Oh, there’s blood.'” highlighting how Annie also witnessed the accident first hand.
Annie herself confirmed the story, telling colleague Woo-chan, “Lee Seo-jin got the scar because he fell asleep on our couch at our house.”
The show also delved into Lee Seo-jin’s long-standing friendship with Annie’s family. He noted, “I first met Annie’s father when I was in college and he was in high school. I knew her mother even before that, since I was in elementary school.”
He expressed his gratitude to Moon Sung-wook, mentioning: “He’s knowledgeable and interesting. He even gave me the same guitar as my favorite guitarist, saying, ‘Since you like this guitar, take it.’ That’s how I learned to play the guitar.”
Annie, Chung Yoo-kyung’s eldest daughter and granddaughter of Shinsegae’s late honorary president Lee Myung-hee, had been in the spotlight even before her debut.
Lee Seo-jin comes from a distinguished family background. His grandfather, the late Lee Bo-hyung, graduated from Keijo Law School during the Japanese colonial era, serving as president of Seoul Bank and Cheil Bank, and was related through marriage to LG founder, the late Koo In-hwoi. His late father, Lee Jae-eung, was the CEO of Anheung Credit Union.

Before turning to acting, Lee Seo-jin studied economics at New York University and worked as an executive at the alternative investment firm Ask Veritas Asset Management.
While the program also touched on Moon Sung-wook’s accomplishments — graduating from the University of Chicago and the Wharton School, joining Shinsegae in 2005, and discovering key startups like Lael, Bungae Jangter, and Peaches — it highlighted Lee Seo-jin’s long-standing personal connection to family.
