Chinese actress Angelababy (Yang Ying) recently caused a stir online, not for a red carpet appearance, but for a daily outing with her son, affectionately known as “Little Sponge.” At just eight years old, the boy’s rapid growth has caught the attention of netizens after candid street photos emerged online.
On November 15, a fan spotted Angelababy and her son casually shopping and shared photos online. What shocked many was not the celebrity sighting, but Little Sponge’s height. In the shared images he appears noticeably taller than Angelababy’s shoulder. Given that the actress is 168 cm tall (about 5’6″) and that the boy’s head reached his father Huang Xiaoming’s chest in a previous photo, it is estimated that he is already between 130 and 140 cm tall.
Fans were quick to praise the child’s towering stature, pointing out that he inherited tall genes from both parents – Angelababy and Huang Xiaoming, who is around 180cm tall. Many have expressed amazement at how quickly it has grown, with some commenting: “He’ll be taller than his mother in no time!”
After her divorce from Huang Xiaoming, Angelababy remained a devoted co-parent. The couple continues to share parenting responsibilities and public sightings of their son are rare, making this recent glimpse even more endearing.
