Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative has shared an official update regarding the ongoing investigation involving the actor, expressing concern over the thoroughness of police work and stating that no changes in the investigation team have been pursued.
On November 3, lawyer Go Sang-rok, representing Kim Soo Hyun, released a statement via his personal channel, saying: “Although the police claim that ‘a significant part of the investigation has been conducted’, I personally remain concerned as to whether the investigation has truly addressed the heart and essence of the case.”
Despite these concerns, Kim Soo Hyun’s side confirmed that they do not intend to request a new investigation team. “To date, more than seven and a half months have passed since the initial complaint was filed on March 20. We have no plans or requests to transition to a new investigative unit at this time,” – added the lawyer.
Since actively intervening on September 30, Go Sang-rok has taken a public role, defending the actor while addressing the misinterpretations surrounding the case. “Because too much time has passed without adequate remedies for the victim, we had no choice but to publish parts of Kim’s personal documents to clarify the public’s distorted perception,” he explained.
Seoul Police Commissioner Park Jeong-bo recently addressed the delays during a press conference, noting that the case involving YouTubers Kim Se-ui it was split between multiple departments, which caused some slowdowns. He assured the media: “We intend to proceed with the investigation at a more rapid pace. The process will remain fair and there is no cause for concern.”
The investigation remains under the jurisdiction of the Gangnam Police Station, and Commissioner Park stressed: “The investigation is already well underway and in its next stages. Therefore, we will continue with the current team without changes.”
Kim Soo Hyun is at the center of controversy following allegations that he had an affair with the late actress Kim Sae Ron when he was still a minor. These statements were spread through videos and posts on Kim Se-ui’s YouTube channel, containing photos, letters and a controversial audio recording supposedly detailing the timeline of their relationship. One quote in particular “The first time (we had sex) was during the winter break of my second year of middle school” it sparked shock and widespread reactions.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun he publicly denied ever dating anyone Kim Sae Ron while he was a minor.
