NMIXX’s latest title track, “Blue Valentine,” rose to the top of Melon’s TOP 100 chart on October 20 at 11 PM KST, marking the group’s first-ever No. 1 on the platform and ending the long reign of “Golden” from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack.
Released on October 13 as the lead single from their self-titled first album, Blue Valentine’s Day it debuted at number 51 on the chart before steadily climbing to number 2 by the morning of October 20 and finally taking the top spot later that night.
This business makes NMIXX the first girl group from JYP Entertainment to claim the top spot on Melon’s TOP 100 since TWICE’s “More & More” in June 2020, underscoring the group’s rapid growth and growing influence in the K-pop landscape. Prior to this breakthrough, NMIXX had established a record of steady improvement on the country charts, with previous singles such as “Love Me Like This” reaching No. 4 and “See That?” and “Young, Dumb, Stupid” reaching number 25 and number 29 respectively on Melon’s daily chart.
Industry observers note that the dethronement of “Golden,” which had dominated the charts for weeks, highlights the intense public interest surrounding NMIXX’s return. “Golden,” performed by the fictional group Huntr/x in the animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” has become a cultural phenomenon and a nearly unstoppable force on the streaming charts since its release earlier this year. Fans celebrated this sea change online, with many praising NMIXX’s vocal prowess and the emotional resonance of “Blue Valentine.”

We hope this is just the beginning of a new chapter for NMIXX.”
“Blue Valentine” is built around a touching pop-rock arrangement that showcases the members’ harmonies over a moving chorus, with lyrics that explore the bittersweet emotions of love.
