The 2025 MAMA Awards nominations reveal that BLACKPINK has emerged as the most nominated band, securing an unprecedented 23 nominations in both group and solo categories.
Individually, Jennie leads all solo artists with nine nods, marking the highest number of individual artists in the ceremony’s history.
Announced on October 16, the nominations cover release from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. BLACKPINK’s collective nominations include major awards such as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Music Video and Best Dance Performance. The quartet also earn multiple entries in the Fans’ Choice categories and genre-specific awards, reflecting their global impact and commercial success.
Jennie’s nine nominations place her at the forefront of solo contenders. She was awarded Best Female Artist, Best Female Solo Dance Performance (“as JENNIE”), Best Collaboration (“ExtraL”), Best Music Video (“Zen”), Best Choreography (“as JENNIE”), Female Solo Artist of the Year, and Artist of the Year. Surprisingly, three of her songs, “Like JENNIE,” “Zen,” and “ExtraL,” are all nominated for Song of the Year, underscoring her versatility as both a performer and creative collaborator.
In addition to BLACKPINK and Jennie, individual Members Jisoo and Rosé also receive significant recognition. Jisoo gets nominations for Best Female Artist, Best Female Solo Dance Performance (“Earthquake”), Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (“Earthquake”). Rosé secures Best Female Artist, Best Solo Vocal Performance (“Toxic to the End”), Best Collaboration (“APT”), Artist of the Year and multiple nominations for Song of the Year, highlighting the solo trio’s strengths alongside the group’s achievements.
Other top-nominated artists include aespa and SEVENTEEN, each with nine nominations, and members of BTS who, despite the group’s hiatus, are earning recognition for individual projects. Newcomers like ALLDAY PROJECT, AHOF and Cortis are honored in the Best New Artist and genre-specific categories, reflecting MAMA’s balance of established superstars and emerging talent.
THE prizes The ceremony is scheduled for November 28 and 29, 2025 at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. Winners will be determined through a combination of expert judging panels, digital streaming and download metrics, physical album sales and fan votes via the Mnet Plus and X (formerly Twitter) app. Fan participation will play a key role in the Fans’ Choice categories, with voting periods running from late October to mid-November.
