Meovv will unveil its new digital single, “Burning Up,” on October 14 at 6 PM KST, marking the South Korean girl group’s first comeback since the release of their debut EP, My eyes open wide, in May this year.
TheBlackLabel released the title poster on October 11 via its official social media channels, showcasing the five members, Miyau, Suin, Gawon, Anna, Narin and Ella, in a vibrant teen style that highlights their distinctive blend of youthful energy and fierce charisma.
The poster just released capture Meovv in a playful yet intense pose, hints at a song that promises to close out the lingering heat of summer with a bold and energetic track. This announcement follows a series of teasers that have steadily increased anticipation: snippets of choreography set in retro Y2K-inspired imagery, cryptic videos that explore the identity of the group’s “feline universe,” and a short teaser music video that previews both the hook and the single’s signature dance moves.
Meovv first debuted on September 6, 2024, with the digital single “Meow,” immediately signaling a dual concept that balances powerful dance sequences with softer, more melodic moments. Their first EP, My eyes opened VVidearrived on May 12, 2025, led by the dually titled tracks “Hands Up” and “Drop Top.”
The first one earned him his first music show trophy on M Countdown on May 8, while the latter have cemented their reputation for dynamic performances and catchy choruses. Following the promotion of the EPs, Meovv released a Japanese single, “Me Me Me”, in late July, expanding their international presence.
In early October, TheBlackLabel revealed a second poster for the title that countered the initial concept of high-teen by featuring the members in edgy outfits, sheer tops, camouflage patterns and leather boots, emphasizing a more mature and fashionable sound. Alongside this image, the agency posted a short highlight clip from the upcoming music video, teasing a choreographic segment that blends sensual movements with sharp formations and 8-bit pixel-style animation reminiscent of classic video games.
Industry experts note that “Burning Up” will expand Meovv’s musical spectrum, going beyond the bright pop sounds of their debut era to embrace a fresher and trendier touch. With its expected drop to coincide with peak streaming hours in both the Korean and international markets, the single is poised to showcase Meovv’s artistic evolution and solidify their status as a rising rookie group in the K-pop scene.
Fans will be able to stream “Burning Up” on all major music platforms starting October 14 at 6 PM KST.
