The return was initially announced on August 18 via Monster childwith an expected release date of October 1st. However, the date was later postponed to October 10 to avoid overlap with the Korean holiday of Chuseok. From the announcement until now, fans have pointed out a significant lack of promotional activity.

After the album poster was revealed on September 12, YG only released individual teaser photos on September 25 and a single group poster on October 1. What attracted even more criticism was the fact that this poster of the group was the only image showing all seven members. The rest of the content focused on abstract logos and graphics, with no sign of music video teasers or samples of the title track, both generally considered essential for generating pre-release buzz.

Many fans believe that YG is treating the group with indifference. Some claim the company reused outdated imagery, while others suspect the group’s latest poster design may have been recycled from another YG artist’s artwork.

This apparent lack of investment has sparked fears Let’s go up will be overshadowed, especially in a competitive comeback season like October. Being a debut group that is still consolidating its identity, Monster child‘s limited exposure could hinder their growth in K-pop’s highly competitive landscape.

Further adding to the controversy is member Ahyeon’s placement on the D‑DAY poster. Although she was widely considered the center of the group, she was positioned towards the edge of the image. This move sparked an immediate backlash from fans who accuse YG of sidelining her and downplaying her role in the comeback.

Controversy over the return of Babymonster

Meanwhile, member Rami, on hiatus due to health issues since May 2025, remains absent. During a recent fan signing event, member Pharita updated fans, saying that Rami is “He’s not completely well yet, but he’s recovering.”

Despite the marketing mishaps, fans continue to praise Monster childthe vocal performance and the music. There is hope in the fandom that the group’s talent will emerge, but the situation has reignited long-standing concerns about how YG handles the promotions of its new artists.

As the dust settles, one thing remains clear: Monster childFans are watching YG closely and demanding better.
