BABYMONSTER will release their second mini-album WE GO UP on October 10 at 1pm KST, marking their comeback just three months after the digital single Hot Sauce. The album includes four tracks: the title song We Go Up, along with Psycho, Supa Dupa Luv and Wild.
“This album expresses what each of us wants to achieve as artists,” member Ahyeon said via YG Entertainment. “Just like the title, it represents our desire to reach higher with our color. Preparing for this comeback reminded me once again how much I truly love music and performance.”
A fresh sound and unfiltered energy
BABYMONSTER describe their new work as a statement of confidence and artistic growth. Rora shared, “We worked hard to show a side of us that fans have never seen before. The songs on this album feel completely new, different from anything we’ve done so far.”
Member Asa added that she focused on deeper emotional expression rather than simple technical perfection: “I wanted to capture the message and emotion of the song in my voice. We practiced the smallest details to convey that feeling authentically.”
Chiquita, recalling her first impression of the title track, said: “When I first heard ‘We Go Up,’ I immediately thought, ‘That’s so us!’ It’s full of energy and groove. Even during the recording I kept thinking, “This is going to be a lot of fun on stage.” It’s trendy, powerful and full of rhythm and style.”
Musically, the album showcases the group’s versatility. Psycho brings an intense beat and a catchy chorus, Supa Dupa Luv adds a soulful touch, while Wild experiments with country-pop – a first for BABYMONSTER.
Trust on the global stage
The return follows the group’s first world tour “HELLO MONSTERS”, which attracted more than 300,000 fans to 32 shows in 20 cities.
Ruka reflected on the experience: “I understood how music connects us beyond language and culture. The applause and love from each country gave us so much strength. It made me want to continue to improve and give back through even better performances.”
For Ahyeon, performing live remains her greatest motivation: “Standing on the stage I dreamed of makes me so happy. The tour felt like a long but fleeting dream – and the memories of those nights fuel me to this day.”
A team that believes in commitment
When asked how they wanted to be described after this comeback, the members agreed on one phrase: “Artists who really like what they do.”
Asa said she hopes fans can feel that joy when they perform: “I want people to see how happy I am on stage – and feel the same energy too.”
Ahyeon added sincerely, “I just hope people can say that we worked hard this time too. I really believe that if you give your best, you will always get a good result in the end.”
With WE GO UP, BABYMONSTER aren’t just aiming for the charts: they’re reaffirming their commitment to growth, authenticity and the pure love of performing.
