Txt’s Beomgyu expresses the frustration for the redesign of Kakaootalk

“Why does the KakaoTalk update changes alone?” He wrote.
“I hate when something changes suddenly. I don’t really like this update – I don’t know if it’s good to say it, but it’s really bad.”
He continued to request a Rollback option:
“If you intend to automatically update, at least do a function that allows you to return to the previous version. I already like analog things and, when so many changes all at once, it’s really overwhelming.”
Beomgyu Recognized that updates should ideally introduce innovations, but claimed that this version made the interface more difficult to use. He has particularly criticized a new functionality that shows the profiles of other users in a format similar to a gallery, saying that it is not interested in the “profile of anyone” shown in that way. He asked: “Who serves this update?”
However, in the end he softened the tone:
“Even so, I think it is admirable that you (developers) continue to create new things and updating for users. Thank you always.”
Reaction and context: because users are also upset

Starting from 23 September, KakaoTalk launched a vast 15-year revision on the market-which has transformed the list of friends into a feed-style layout (similar to social media) and made the individual profile more important. The company also added a short -form video card, further pushing the app into the kingdom of social media and multimedia.
Many users have expressed their displeasure for changes:
- Some said that the renewal exposed old photos of which they had forgotten, causing embarrassment.
- Others complained that they are forced to view images of profiles to which they have no interest.
- Several users have left the 1 star reviews on the App Store, asking for a return to the previous version.
A representative of Kakao replied that they are “listening to users’ feedback” and intend to improve features, although there is still no confirmation if they return completely to the oldest design.
