On September 17, the Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi walked on the red carpet at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (Biff 2025). The 33 -year -old star appeared at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae, smiling and greeting fans despite being in the middle of a tabloid scandal at home.
This marks his first great public appearance outside Japan since his private life made news.
Sakaguchi has recently become the center of the dispute following a report by the Japanese magazine Weekly Bunshun. The outlet said he had lived with a member of the hair and Senior make -up staff for over four years while simultaneously will be released with the actress Mei Nagano.
Nagano’s team later admitted to having attended Sakaguchi in the past, but insisted on the fact that “he was not aware of his life partner”. The revelations fueled the debate on in Japan, marking the actor like the face of a “two -stroke scandal”.
Despite the negative print, Sakaguchi has chosen to face the cameras. He appeared on the BIFF red carpet with the cast of his new final film, part of the Festival Open Cinema range.
Wearing a classic dress and flashing his warm smile, he seemed composed and cheerful. However, according to what was reported, an official press conference has canceled to avoid direct questions about his personal life. His participation in other events of the Festival remains not confirmed.
Sakaguchi has become famous through films such as the 100th Love with You, Tonight, The Movies and in the last 10 years. Beyond Japan, he also obtained recognition in Korea after acting in K-Drama of Coupang Play What Open Love in 2024.
For Korean fans, his biff’s appearance offered a rare possibility of seeing him closely, even if Japanese fans noticed the irony that his first public release since the scandal took place abroad.
