In view of the clash of Paris Saint-Germain against Lens on September 14 in Ligue 1, the French sports journalist Pierre Menes turned on the controversy with hard comments on the South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in.
On his personal YouTube channel, Menes discussed concerns about PSG’s accidents, detecting the absence of Ousmano dembélé and Young Star Desire Doué, both set aside for over a month. However, what really attracted attention was when the 60 -year -old described lee as a “terrible player”. He added, sarcastically, that Lee would have seen more playing time only because other key players were injured.
These observations immediately triggered a wave of repercussions, in particular among Asian fans. Many supporters of the PSG of South Korea condemned Menes’s comments as unresolved and unilateral, underlining that Lee had contributed significantly to the club in the last year.
Despite the criticisms, PSG’s leadership showed unwavering support for the 23 -year -old midfielder. According to reports, both the sports director Luis Campos that the manager Luis Enrique had no intention of letting Lee go during the summer transfer window. In fact, his position inside the team grew only after his extraordinary performance in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, where he marked an extraordinary goal against Tottenham.
Lee remains contracted with PSG until June 2028 and the club considers him an integral part of his future.
