In The cursedMoon Chae-Won plays Chae-Won, a woman dissatisfied with her appearance and consumed by the obsession with the aspect. Admitted, “Unlike Solar, who likes the horror very much, in reality I don’t watch scary films because I have been scared easily. I would never have thought of receiving an offer for this genre, but I felt it would be a new experience and I became curious about the result, so I decided to face the challenge.”
He added, “I thought it would also be refreshing for the fans and the public to see myself in this type of role, so I started shooting with an open heart.”
Speaking of the role, explained Moon Chae-Won, “As a woman and as someone in a profession that is always under the eyes of the audience, wanting to look more beautiful is something that I can easily relate to. This has made it natural to approach the character, but I tried to bring it beyond playing someone more deeply consumed by desire.”
He continued, “Even when the others see you beautiful, you could focus on your complexes and defects until you can escape them. It is not just an aspect: it is the same with emotions. This is the mentality that I brought to the performance.”
Despite the chilling topic, the set was warm and lively. Moon Chae-Won shared, “During the filming of action scenes with SEO Ji-Soo, his cheerful and playful personality made the atmosphere so pleasant. I had a lot of fun shooting.”
The cursed It tells the disturbing story of a ghost travel market that appears every time a certain window opens, interpreting people who risk getting everything they can’t have. The film will arrive in cinemas on September 17th.
