Taeil State Police Have Been Under Investigation for Sexual Offences Since June
Korean netizens reacted dividedly to his investigation.
- “June? That’s crazy.”
- “Did he cancel his contract with SM? I understand he was removed from the group.”
- “I guess the company didn’t know either, because he was on break… the employees must have had a hard time.”
- “June… this son of a bitch has some nerve coming to the fan meeting.”
- “You keep saying that SM tried to negotiate with the journalists until they couldn’t anymore and then kicked him out… but journalists are not like that. They are the worst kind… if they find out something, they will publish it.”
- “But they might not have known because he was on hiatus due to his motorcycle accident. It’s not like an active member was reported, but a hiatus member… how would they have known? If there was any news or rumors, they would have fact-checked, but since there was nothing, there’s no way the company could have known. He just kept hiding and hiding until he was discovered, and once the company saw that it was something they couldn’t control, they just posted the takedown announcement.”
- “If he was an active member, there’s no way the company wouldn’t know, but if he’s a member on hiatus due to a leg injury, the company might have known later. They probably would have known a few weeks before they posted the notice… I’m not trying to defend SM… I’m not even a fan of their artists… they have more obnoxious celebrities anyway, so why should I…”
- “The subpoenas are sent by mail, so if he wanted to hide it from the company or the people, he could have done that.”
- “Wow, then why did he promote… so annoyed.”
- “If he was intentionally trying to hide it, how would they know? He’s been in the industry for a while and they don’t live in dorms anymore. He’s the one who had a motorcycle accident on his way home from work. I got the feeling that the company didn’t make any rules after seeing that accident.”
- “He was investigated in June, but he showed up to the fan meeting in August… damn.”
- “What’s with everyone defending SM. If it were any other company there would be tons of comments from people shushing them… and why are you dragging a baseball player? It’s horrible.”
- “His motorcycle accident wasn’t that long ago? He has good stamina… crazy.”
- “It was removed right away anyway, so whether they knew or not, MS doesn’t seem to care.”
- “I thought he was hurt… I don’t think so?”
- “There’s no way MS didn’t know about it, but I think they did a pretty quick job, finishing it in just a month.”
- “There is no way that SM would have known if it started in June. How is it possible that there is no news about it.”
- “Just because he was arrested doesn’t mean he was investigated right away. He could have been investigated recently.”
- “There is nothing confirmed yet…because everyone is so passionate about defending SM. There are so many criminals who let it slide…it is not a clean society to begin with.”
- “*pause* *doesn’t live in the dorms* How could the company know? There wasn’t a single newspaper article about it. Not even the sasaengs knew.”
With his removal from the group, members have unfollowed him on social media and other member activities have been postponed due to the severity of the situation. Check out the latest update on the case below.
