TAEIL (NCT) Under Investigation for Sex Offences, Retires from Group

Recently, SM Entertainment announced that Taeil will be withdrawing from NCT due to his involvement in a sex crime case. Notably, SM took the initiative to address the issue before the media could talk about it.

“Recently, we confirmed that Taeil has been charged in a criminal case involving a sexual offense. During the investigation of the facts surrounding this case, we found that the matter is very serious and decided that Taeil cannot continue his activities with the group. After discussing with Taeil, he decided to leave the group.

Currently, Taeil is fully cooperating with the police investigation and we will provide more information as the investigation progresses. We deeply apologize for the controversy caused by our artist.”

Taeil debuted as a member of NCT in 2016 and has been active as the main vocalist in the subgroup NCT 127 and the unit NCT U.
