On August 22, the group held a press conference in Conrad Seoul to mark the release of their fourth album with full figure, KARMA. But hours before the event, their track of the “ceremony” title was previewed with a high energy music video that immediately sent fans and Netizen to a frenzy.
Attached against the background of a competition of imaginary sports, the MV presents members as elite athletes of different disciplines, embodying their concept of “samples of the Music League”. However, it was the final scene that really made Jews fall.
Making a short but unforgettable appearance was nothing more than Lee Sang Hyuk, better known as Faker, the legendary Esports icon of the League of Legends and Global Esports. Its characteristic pose at the end of the video left fans incredulous and admiration.
“Faker filmed our music video while we were on tour”, Felix shared during the press conference. “He did an excellent job and, although I could not meet him in person, I am grateful and honored. If we have another possibility, I would like to meet him and play.”
The unexpected crossover between K-Pop and Esports immediately became viral. On the platform of the Korean community Theqoo, the reactions went from pure shock to excitement:
- “This is crazy.”
- “Wait … our Sang Hyuk ??”
- “Felix has become a successful fan!”
With KARMA Officially released today at 13:00 KST, Stray Kids is once again demonstrating their power to break the boundaries – both musically and culturally, one viral moment at a time.
