The video is followed Hong Seok-Cheon and creator of content Kim Dolatedco-conductors of the YouTube show The Hong Seok-Cheon jewelry boxAs they explored Singapore’s nightlife and the LGBTQ+scene.
The duo visited several gay bars and clubs during the episode. In a bar, local fans greeted them enthusiastically, to which they replied, “There are many Jewel Box fans here”, express surprise and gratitude for their growing international popularity.
While the night progressed, a humorous moment emerged when Kim Ddol-Dodol shared, “Seok-Cheon Sunbae disappeared from the gay bar, so I went to look for him: he got out to chat with some guys. I thought he went to the bathroom.” Filming showed that Hong Seok-Cheon warmly interacts with local men outside the club, highlighting his accessible personality.
The atmosphere was further energized by the famous k-pop successes such as 2ne1 “I am the best” AND “Bang Bang Bang” by Bigbangstrengthening the global scope of Corean pop culture.
On the way back to the hotel, Hong was reflected humorously in his night: “I understood that being popular does not mean anything. I took photos with so many people, I followed them on social media, yet I’m returning alone”, Laughed, adding, “Here’s how my Friday evening ends.”
Hong Seok-Cheon, who made his debut in 1995 through the Kbs College Comedy Festival, made history in 2000 becoming the first Korean celebrity to come publicly as a sexual minority. His candidacy and continuous defense made him a loved figure both nationally and internationally.
