Actor Lee Sooo-Hyuk shed light on his decision to take on the main role in the next Wave Fantasy thriller S-linesharing his excitement and reflections during a press conference held 7 July at the CGV Yongsan i’Park Mall in Seoul. The event also presented co-protagonists Da-hee, ARIN, Lee Eun-Saemand director Ahn Joo-Young.
S-line It is a provocative dark fantasy that deepens the sudden appearance of red strings-“S-Line”-which visibly connect the people who have had sexual relationships. As these connections emerge, the secrets and desires that were once hidden begin to take control of their lives, leading to a cascade of suspense and revelation. Lee Soo-Hyuk plays Ji-wookA stoic detective that studies the emergence of these mysterious lines. His counterpart, Lee Da-Hee, recites how Gyu-JinA high school teacher whose external heat masks something more disturbing.
When asked why he joined the project, Lee shared, “Since I would play a detective, I thought it would be a good opportunity to show a different type of charm than my past roles. I liked reading the script and I felt sure I could show something new at the end of the shooting.”
He added that Ji-Wook’s emotional and physical intertwining intrigued him, “Ji-Wook has more S-lines and I was curious to know how it would end. During the script readings, the other actors were so good that I heard:” If I did my part well, everything will work “, which motivated me to bring my best to the role”.
The actor admitted that the bold title and the topic initially made him hesitate, “When I heard the title for the first time, I was surprised. It is a bold and provocative concept, so I thought a lot about how to express this character and how history would have managed these themes.”
Despite the suggestive premise, Lee has chosen to focus on the psychological depth of the characters, “Although the topic is provocative, I concentrated on how people change when they leave their private life – the things they usually hide – are exposed. I wanted to explore those reactions and different attitudes that people have.”
S-line will be presented to an exclusive preview Wavereleasing Two episodes each on 11, 18 and 25 July (Friday) For a total of six compelling episodes. With its mixture of mystery, psychological dramas and the themes of breaking the taboo, the series is already arousing anticipation both at home and abroad.
