SI-WAN AS MYUNG-GI (Player 333)
Returning as “Myung-gi”, Si-Wan breathes new life in a character previously written as irresponsible and self-centered. Introduced in season 2 as an influenza crypt whose reckless advice led to a huge financial ruin, including for his pregnant girlfriend, Jun-Hee (played by Ju Yuri), Myung-gi initially disappeared under the weight of guilt.
However, in the third season, the tables turn. After learning that the Jun-Hee child is his, Myung-Gi returns to the game with a sense of paternal duty, although not one who exceeds Gred’s sin. Si-Wan masterfully traces the evolution of the character from a morally ambiguous figure in a man struggling with guilt, redemption and sacrifice.
Critics call performances that define Si-Wan’s career, also overcoming his acclaimed role of Jang Geu-Rae in “Misaeng“(2014). Roh Jae-Won as Nam-Gyu (player 124)
While Myung-do prepares in his moral battle, Nam-Gyu (played by Roh Jae-Won) dives deeper into the darkness. In the absence of empathy and guided by a detachment induced by drugs by morality, Nam-Gyu kills players with a brilliant lack of remorse.
Taking the torch from Thanos (Choi Seung-Hyun), who previously met his end, Nam-Gyu becomes the main antagonist, embodying the most raw brutality of the show. Roh’s portrait is marked by unnerving details, by his predatory gaze while chasing the victims in alley to his reflections detached from death, with his lines “You can see the light vanish from people’s eyes before they died” Stay in the minds of the spectators.
