Starship Entertainment has announced the start of Park Junhwan from the debut of the next IDID group on Monday, after weeks of serious accusations on his alleged misogynist behavior. The group will now debut with seven members instead of the eight originally expected.
Junhwan faced the accusations of individuals who claimed to be his former classmates, who claimed to have engaged in misogynist behavior and bad sexual conduct during his school years. The accusations, which emerged in mid -May, included the claims to have made unresolved comments on women, created false photographs of women’s classmates and ignored the request for a girl to use protection during intimate meetings.
The controversy has gained more traction on social media platforms, with the hashtag #parkjunhwan_out trending on x at the end of May. Frustrated fans organized protests, sending funeral garlands to the starship Entertainment headquarters to ask for his removal from the group. The symbolic gesture represented their request for the company to act against the trainee.
Many people have shared screenshots and online messages as alleged tests of Junhwan’s inappropriate behavior. The former classmates said in the group chats that they were “obsessed with women” and was known for having openly discussed his sexual experiences during school.
Starship Entertainment maintained Junhwan’s innocence during the controversy, stating that the accusations were “completely false”. The agency said she had conducted an internal investigation, reviewing its academic documents and obtaining statements from school officials who described him as “a diligent and responsible student”. The company claimed to have evidence that anonymous accounts posing While his former classmates were disseminating false information.
Although he defended his character, Starship announced that Junhwan decided to leave the group because of “significant psychological discomfort” caused by the controversy. The agency said he would provide him time to recover and seek professional mental health support. Starship also warned that he would pursue legal action against those who spread false information and harassment aimed at the trainee.
Idid was formed through the “debut plan” survival show and originally consisted of eight members: Kim Min-Jae, Jang Yong-Hoon, Baek Jun-Hyuk, Park Won-Bin, Choo Yoo-Chan, Jung Se-Min, Park Jun-Hwanand Park Sung-Hyun.
