After four episodes of “Together”, the first southern Lesbian dating show of South Korea, SEOYEON (born in 1993) emerged as an extraordinary one of the seven competitors. Its surprising aspect, the accessible personality and the intriguing revelations have conquered a vast audience.
When the cast was revealed for the first time, Seoyeon aroused curiosity for its identity and profession. Like some other participants, it has maintained private personal details. According to various sources, he worked as a producer and planner (Pd) for Studio Choom, a Korean YouTube channel with dance shows of K-Pop artists, for four years before joining the show.
In the last episode of “Together”, Seoyeon shocked the spectators revealing that he currently owns a shop that sells toys for adults for women. He shared his philosophy, “Women are not objects to provide sexual pleasure but subjects who deserve to enjoy them.”
Seoyeon has over 28,000 followers on his personal Instagram, where he mainly publishes everyday moments, such as going out with friends or traveling. Generally it favors casual-champion clothes, shirts or simple-and shirts wears long straight hair. However, his slightly curled hairstyle on the show has gained many compliments.
In this show of appointments, Seoyeon and the other competitors interact and know each other to find a compatible correspondence in the end. Currently, it is more popularly “sent” with Dagyo. The two share a strong connection and click well in conversations. In episode 3, Seoyeon wrote a letter to Dagyo, noting their many similarities. Its pairing with Dagyo’s tendencies under #seogyo, with clip of their exchange of letters of episode 3 becoming viral.
“Together” is the first Lesbian reality show of South Korea, previewed on April 25, 2025, on Wavve and Rakuten TV, which marks a milestone in the LGBTQ+ representation in a country with historically conservative opinions on the relationships between people of the same sex. The show presents seven women: Mirang, Dagyo, Jinah, Seoyeon, Riwon, Heeyoung and Hangyul, who live together in a house on the island of Jeju, forming connections through activities such as dates and notes of anonymous love, without initially sharing personal details such as age or employment.
The show had to face controversies, including a repercussions against the competitor Kim Riwon for his past as “bold streamer” and accusations of queerbaiting, leading to a temporary break in the airing to face assembly concerns. However, Seoyeon remains a focal point for the positive involvement of fans.
