The member of Newjeans, Danielle, is facing online criticism after a recent solo performance at Hong Kong has led to accusations of synchronization of the lips.
During the event, Danielle got on stage with a TLC successful song cover “No scrub.” While his presence on the stage and the charisma initially received praise, a video of the performance later aroused online controversies. Many Netizen claimed that he was synchronizing his lips and made few efforts to hide it.

Some went to social media to express their disappointment:
- He didn’t even try to behave as if he were singing live.
- This is disappointing. Newjeans is known for having talent.
- Why is a solo stage if it will be only synchronized for the lips?
The recourse arrives at a time when K-Pop idols are increasingly examined for their live singing skills. While some fans defended Danielle, stating that the performance may have been pre-recorded for the quality of production, others claimed that the live voice is essential, especially for the solo phases.
Others contrasted with comments such as:
- Technical constraints may have been. We are not too hard.
- Even seasoned idols sometimes synchronized for the lips, this does not mean that they cannot sing.
- He is still young. This should not obscure his talent.
Meanwhile, Newjeans has recently announced a temporary suspension of group activities due to a contractual dispute in progress with their agency, Ador. As tensions increase, fans are becoming more and more worried about the future of the group and the well -being of its members. Among uncertainty, accidents such as Danielle’s performance continue to feed public control.
