Newjeans accused of Aespa plagiarism with the design of the renamed metal logo

The group of Njz global girls, previously known as Newjeans, is facing plagiarus accusations on the metal design of their new logo, with some who claim that they are copying the Aespa of smalleinment.

Thursday, the group, created by Danielle, Haerin, Hanni, Hyein and Minji, officially revealed it as Njz in the middle of his legal battle with the Ador agency. The announcement was made in collaboration with the complex of media editorial houses and was accompanied by new group photos, including one that showed a stylized Y2K logo with metal characters. Other photos also had chromatic metal elements.

From the revelation, some social media users have accused Njz of plagiarizing the concept of Aespa, adding that the logo had a similarity with the brand inspired by the cyberpunk of the women’s group.

Some Netizen defended Njz, claiming that the renamed logo of the group follows a design concept that used from their debut in July 2022. Others stressed that Vespa has changed its logos several times to combine the theme of her new song or album .

Njz’s rebranding arrives in his continuous controversy with Ador. In November 2024, the group terminated the contract with the agency, accusing Ador of mistreatment, violations of the contract and harassment.

Ador disputes this, claiming that the contract remains valid until 2029 and intention of presenting legal actions to block the independent activities of the group. The agency also sought injunctions by the Court to prevent NJz from signing advertising agreements or using the new name before the legal sentences.

Key auditions are scheduled for March 7 for advertising disputes and on April 3 for the validity of the contract.

Njz members say that the brand reflects their desire to move forward creatively as she moves away from the conflict, Hanni said in an interview with the CNN.

He also stated that under Ador, Njz would move away from his “girl-next-door” image and would have moved to a more acute and bold style through street fashion and without gender clothing.
