On February 2, K-Netizen discovered that Kim Min-Seok, Kim Sung-Cheol actors and the singer Kim Min-Seok (Melomance) were involved in online sexual harassment against women’s idol Kwon Eun-Bi.
Starts accused of interacting with a harassment account
The three stars interacted with an account that published the body grouping clips and made sexually harassed comments on female idols.
Melomance’s Kim Sung-Cheol actor Kim Min-Seok were found to participate in inappropriate surveys on Kwon Eunbi on the account. Meanwhile, actor Kim Min-Seok commented on a Kwon Eun-Bi performance video in Waterbomb published by the account, saying, “Red is for Manchester, hmm …”
The Netizen quickly shared the screenshots of these interactions, leading to widespread criticisms. Some Netizen have expressed confusion, questioning how the stars have not recognized their actions as sexual harassment. Others asked to use private accounts instead of publicly committing to these accounts.
In response to harassment, the Netizen reported the account, with consequent Instagram that quickly removed it.
However, the controversy that surrounds the actor Kim Min-Seok was a misunderstanding that was mistakenly interpreted as sexual harassment. A Twitter user reported his comment “Red is for Manchester, hmm …” As inappropriate, accuse him of making a sexually harassed observation linked to a post focused on the body of Kwon Eun-Bi. The accuser said that Kim Min-Seok’s comment, in reference to Kwon Eunbi who wore red in the pole, was an act of sexual harassment.
The post Kim Min-Seok commented was actually a video of Kwon Eun-Bi performance in which he didn’t wear red. The post came from a report relating to football and its comment “Red is for Manchester” It was simply a reference to the color of his favorite team, Manchester United.
Later it was revealed that the post was from 2023 and the accuser had intentionally carved out the screenshot to misrepresent the comment of Kim Min-Seok and falsely accused him of sexual harassment. After making the error, the accuser eliminated the pole and clarified that there was no intention to deceive. Despite this, the accusation had already spread widely, reaching international fans and leading to hateful comments on Kim Min-Seok’s personal account.
Despite the recourse, none of the stars involved has yet to comment on the accident.
