The parents of the members of Newjeans Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein have opened a joint account on social media to directly communicate their position on the contractual dispute of the women’s group with the Ador label.
In the first post of the Instagram account (@jeanz_pr), their parents released a declaration that explained that they felt other choice than to contact social media.
They revealed that they would turn to the media but they considered that, despite having interviews and attempts to clarify the facts with journalists, their statements have not always been carefully reported.
Many stores, they said, have not been able to represent their stories, while others have been printed with “misleading titles”.
Below is the complete declaration of Newjeans’ parents:
“Hi, we are the parents of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein,
This account was temporarily created out of necessity to represent our position in the dispute with Hybe.
Since there was no official channel to transmit our position, we have made numerous attempts to communicate the facts through direct interviews with various media or by contacting the journalists we learned about.
While some media faithfully reported our statements, there were very few. We also tried to distribute statements through an agency, but the titles were often misleading and we had to face significant challenges in ensuring that our position was carefully transmitted without distortion.
While the articles that reflect the prospects of the members are either framed, framed negatively or just published, Hybe and Ador distribute hundreds of articles a day, many of which contain false information or represent only the position of Hybe and Ador -checking or the right to refute. This includes publications in online propaganda stores.
[Unfortunately, ahead of the injunction lawsuit, we have received reports that HYBE and ADOR are once again circulating unfounded rumors and distributing fabricated reports to journalists in an attempt to spread false narratives about the members. This has prompted us to create this account.]
We understand that many could be tired from this prolonged dispute and apologize sincerely for this.
However, the content shared through this account will mainly consist of issues that the members themselves cannot easily face.
Since their only spokesperson right now, we urgently need a platform to make the record clear and ask for your understanding. “
