The former member of the T-Ara Areum has appealed to his suspended sentence for abuse of minors of his son and defamation against his ex-husband.

The former idol was given a suspended prison sentence of eight months, two years of supervised freedom and 40 hours of prevention of abuses on minors for alleged claims of abuses, including the claims to have used the profane language against his ex husband in front of her children.

Areum had previously admitted the accusations in court.

Second Sports Chosun, Areum contested the court sentence, appealing through his legal representative on January 23. Areum said that her ex -husband had committed continuous acts of abuse of minors against their children during their marriage.

In the meantime, her ex -husband filed a complaint in February against Ahreum and her mother, accusing them of violating the Child Welfare Act (abuse and abandonment of minors) and of having committed an abduction and abandonment of minors in response.

Her mother was sentenced to four months in prison and a year of supervised freedom and tried in court for the requests to “neglect her grandchildren” in a toxic environment, including the accusations of verbal abuse against her former son -in -law from 2021 to 2022.

Areum made his debut as a member of T-Ara but started from the group in 2013. She remarried in 2019 after having divorced her first husband, with whom she has two children.
