An online community post recently gained attention for a netizen’s story about Shownu by MONSTA.
Shownu joined the Army in 2021 and served as a public service employee due to his eye surgery.
“I have a good image of Shownu from MONSTA
Shownu worked as a public service employee when my mother worked at the children’s center. He always arrived on time and an hour early when it was a child’s birthday or some kind of event.
During trips, if the children got too rowdy, he sang nursery rhymes to them. Since he didn’t know the lyrics, he sang them a little strangely, but he kept singing even though the kids made fun of him for it.
He always came home late from work playing with the children who kept begging him to stay. He rarely took days off and was always ready to help, whether it was the chef or the cleaner.”
“He even helped my mother get some papers out because her shoulder hurt, and when she said, ‘Thank you so much! My shoulder suddenly hurts these days’ he replied that his shoulder also often hurts and advised her not to carry heavy things and to try to train 1:1 in the gym.
Afterwards, every time he saw my mother carrying something or playing with the children, he ran to do it for her. Later, my mother ended up quitting due to shoulder surgery, and on her last day of work, he came with flowers and a fruit basket and even carried the basket to her car because she said it was heavy. I really have such a beautiful image of him.
Netizens praised him for his positive work ethic.
- “Wow, this compares to the utility worker in my brother’s downtown.”
- “Right? My mother was a public service worker, and it’s already rare that they don’t take days off, and if they do they call and ask them to take care of it. But Shownu always let her know in advance and explained the reasons for where he was leaving. If there was an event scheduled at the center, he would postpone his program to help.
- “It’s so funny that he gave advice on working out at the gym. I can imagine him being serious when he talks about it.
- “He also taught her some exercises that she could do with a chair. When he saw my mother laughing, he tried even harder to show it to her.
We love a hardworking and faithful man!
