The survival program Universe League has officially announced the final members of the new boy group AHOF, much to the excitement of fans. However, the group’s name has become a subject of ridicule among netizens, who also caught Yugyeom’s viral reaction.
During the final episode of Universe League21 Team Rhythm, Groove and Beat finalists have been revealed.
The conclusion placed nine winners: JL Gaspar, Steven, Zhang Shuai Bo, Park Juwon, Seo Jeong Woo, Chi en, Daisuke, Cha Woong Ki and Park Han.
The group’s name, Ahof, is an acronym for the all-time Hall of Famer, representing the bold ambition of the nine contestants “who dream of becoming global stars” and made their way into the K-Pop “Hall of Fame”.
The meaning of the name was supposed to be monumental and inspiring.
However, some netizens couldn’t hold back their frustration over Ahof’s strange sound, leading them to troll the name in humorous posts.
Got7 fans Ahgase also noticed Yugyeom’s reaction when the group’s name was announced. In a clip that went viral, Yugyeom, who worked as a judge on the program, was shown bursting into laughter.
Ahgase also joked that the moment might have been reminiscent of the time Yugyeom had to hear the names of alternative groups from Got7 Band Got7. This included silly names like “Get7,” “Savage7,” and “7-Eleven.”
