They responded to the group’s latest social media activity.
I LOVE IT released an official statement in response to the New Jeans members’ latest social media post.
On January 23, the KST group became independent Instagram account, @jeanzforfree, to announce a fan contest to “find a new promotional name to use for a certain period of time.”
The post sparked a lot of excitement among NewJeans fans as it indicated that the group may be planning to be active under a temporary name until the dust settles. MOVES AND I LOVE IT. But the announcement of the fan contest was followed by ADOR’s warning against any such steps.
On January 23, KST and ADOR told the media that the members’ attempt to be active independently would constitute a serious breach of contract.
ADOR maintains that our exclusive contract with NewJeans still stands and we are faithfully committed to the legal process. It is regrettable that members are attempting to pursue independent entertainment activities, such as asking for suggestions for new names, before receiving legal judgment, as this may constitute a serious breach of contract.
