Rapper San E sent to trial on charges of aggravated assault

On the 22nd, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul reported the rapper San E had been referred to the Procuratorate without arrest on charges of aggravated assault on the 10th. According to the police, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul received a report that San E assaulted a passerby in a park in Mapo-gu around 8.30pm on July 28, 2024. San E’s father was also accused of beating the passerby, but the investigation ended with the parties agreeing.

San E was initially charged with assault, but the charge was changed to aggravated assault when the victim’s injuries were confirmed. The victim was reported to have suffered a laceration to the area near his eye and some damaged teeth. The rapper allegedly scolded a passerby for not handling his bicycle correctly and used his cell phone to hit the individual near the eye, causing a laceration. The victim also suffered damage to his teeth as a result of the argument. The police intervened promptly after receiving a distress call, conducting investigations that involved both the rapper and the injured party.
