GFRIEND’s Yuju will limit attendance at 10th anniversary concerts due to health concerns
ON January 16thSOURCE MUSIC has released an official announcement via Weverse, informing fans that Yuju will minimize his participation in the next GFRIEND project 10th anniversary concerts in Seoul for health reasons.
“While recovering after receiving treatment for the flu, Yuju felt discomfort in her throat and went to the hospital for a check-up. She was diagnosed with inflammation of the vocal cords and doctors advised her to refrain from using her voice, including singing, for the time being“, reads the statement.
“Following medical advice, We have decided to minimize Yuju’s singing and use of her voice during GFRIEND’s scheduled performances this week”, he continued. “As a result, Yuju will participate in only minimal singing and speaking, as much as possible, during GFRIEND’s 10th anniversary concerts scheduled for January 17-19.“
GFRIEND, which debuted in 2015recently celebrated their milestone anniversary with the release of their special album, “The season of memories” on January 13th. The album marks a significant moment in their career, commemorating a decade of heartfelt music and unwavering support from their fans, known as Friends.
The group is scheduled to perform three nights of concerts in Seoul as the starting point of the anniversary tour, followed by stops in Seoul Osaka on March 9th, Yokohama on March 11th Hong Kong on March 14th and Taipei on March 29. Although Yuju’s health situation will limit her role at the Seoul concerts, she remains an integral part of the celebration, and fans send her their heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery.
SOURCE MUSIC reassured fans that the decision was made in consultation with Yuju to prioritize his well-being. The remaining members will continue to deliver memorable performances while expressing their gratitude for Yuju’s contributions to the group’s legacy.
