On January 16, NewJeans Hyein appeared as a guest on the channel “Dazed Korea” where she shared her thoughts.
Hyein started by mentioning her debut and the moments that stood out to her. He shared, “I joined as an intern last time. What remains strongly in my memory is the first time I saw the older members: they were beautiful, angelic, kind and pure.
He added, “The process of all of us coming together for something, living together, practicing and preparing towards a goal has been meaningful.”
His second key word was “summer”. Hyein explained, “We debuted on July 22nd. When we debuted, the members gathered in our dorm and watched the music video for ‘Attention’ together. Even then I felt that this time was very precious.”
Subsequently, he revealed “winter” as the third keyword, saying: “When I think about winter, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘Ditto.’ It was winter during the promotions, but it was very warm. It was our second comeback, and the music video contained many stories, with ‘Ban Hee-soo’ appearing in it. That’s why it felt significant, as we had our first comeback with a music video featuring the Bunnies (NewJeans fandom). From the preparation process, it seemed like we were doing this with the Bunnies, and it was a very meaningful activity.”
The next key word was “people.” Hyein shared, “Looking back, I realized that I had many amazing and wonderful adults around me. Recently, I’ve been hearing this a lot.
He continued, “My relationship with Bunnies, in particular, is very special. I want to meet them often and have many conversations, and I want to be closer and more familiar, but there are many reasons why I can’t do that. However, I find it surprising that they love us so much.”
Meanwhile, NewJeans is facing a conflict with their agency, ADOR, regarding their exclusive contract. NewJeans claims that their exclusive contract with ADOR has been terminated, while ADOR has filed a lawsuit in the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the contract’s validity.
