On January 13, a video titled “A new change in 5 years! Shortcut!” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “Yulhee’s House”.
In the video, Yulhee visited a hair salon with the CEO, announcing “Today is haircut day“, anticipating the transformation of her hairstyle.
Running his fingers through his long hair, he joked, “Goodbye, hair. You have put up with so much over the years with such an inconsiderate and rude owner“and smiled.
Yulhee personally cut her hair with scissors, cutting off her long locks. Expressing mixed emotions, he said: “I cut it. There’s no going back now.”
After he began cutting his hair, he sang HOT’s “Candy,” comparing his look to that of a first-generation idol.
As the transformation continued, she shared memories of her pregnancies, “It’s been five years since I last had short hair. I have always opted for a shortcut during every pregnancy. It must have been due to emotional changes. Long hair felt heavy and even taking a shower was difficult.“
After completing the shortcut, Yulhee remarked: “I seem like a nice guy. But I think it suits me and I look younger.“
The video also showed Yulhee celebrating Christmas with a longtime friend.
During their conversation, her friend commented on Yulhee’s sleeping habits: “You sleep so peacefully that sometimes I check if you’re alive. It’s scary how quiet you are.“Yulhee laughed, admitting:”I fall asleep like I turn off a switch.“
The friend also observed changes in Yulhee after her twin pregnancy, noting, “You grew stronger during that time. I remember you saying, “Maybe it’s because I’m a mom now.” You have become tougher after facing so many challenges.“Yulhee agreed, adding:”I have learned to manage my emotions and empathize when necessary.”
The conversation continued until 4 a.m., with the friend praising Yulhee’s cheerful nature and simplicity, calling her “a truly brilliant and innocent person“.
Meanwhile, Yulhee and Choi Minhwan got married in 2018 and had three children together. However, they divorced in 2023, with Choi Minhwan gaining custody of their children.
Yulhee revealed that her decision to divorce stemmed from Choi Minhwan’s personal issues, accusing him of visiting adult entertainment establishments and alleging that he sexually harassed her in front of her parents. He also released recordings to support his accusations.
Amid the controversy, Choi Minhwan resigned from KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman” and suspended his activities with FT Island.
Choi Minhwan, however, told Dispatch on January 13 that the main reason for their divorce was Yulhee’s behavior. She claimed that his frequent absences and excessive sleeping habits – which sometimes lasted 18-20 hours a day – put a strain on their marriage. He stated: “In five years she left home more than 20 times. Who could bear it?“
Despite her claims, public opinion has swung towards Yulhee, with comments such as: “Hypersomnia is a symptom of depression” AND “Have you ever considered the challenges of postpartum depression and caring for children?“
