SM Entertainment recently came under fire after Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Red Velvet’s Wendy announced that they would not be attending the 30th anniversary concert SMTOWN Live 2025 in Seoul on January 11th and 12th.
The agency faced backlash for allegedly failing to help the SNSD leader set the stage, as he stated in his Bubble messages: “They were unable to make the preparations, so because of that , I ended up not being able to do it at all.”

Red Velvet’s lead singer Wendy also raised her eyebrows due to SM’s late warning about her absence, despite having discussed it with them a long time ago.
“The discussion with the company happened a month ago, but the notice only appeared today,” the “Like Water” singer explained.
Since then, fans have criticized the label for its alleged lack of communication and concern for its artists.
But the drama escalated when SM Entertainment employees counterattacked by writing down their feelings Blinda forum dedicated to company staff members to post anonymously.
“It’s also power (abuse) to post something like that on Bubble. Wasn’t there a discussion with them before putting the lineup on the poster?” said one SM staffer, adding, “It’s so annoying that you care about us like that, and now they flip the narrative like this. It’s really tiring. If they’re dissatisfied, please leave.”
Another SM employee agreed and criticized the idols for not acting like senior idols when writing the messages.
“Haa… I feel the same way. I’m so frustrated that now I’m filled with anger. Everyone works tirelessly at the last minute before the show and all they do is post a single Bubble post,” the other staff said .
“Reading the dizzying articles, I have so much to say, but, hmm… as a senior artist, they should act like one. If you are a senior artist, then you should think more before you speak.”
