Since announcing his marriage and his impending fatherhood in 2023, actor Song Joong Ki he has remained rather quiet about his personal life. Aside from occasional comments defending the rumors, the actor had not said much about his marriage and his fans relied on rare sightings of him and his wife by the public. That is until Song Joong Ki made a rare appearance on Hi Choi Hwa Jung YouTube channel and shared all about his wife and kids!
On December 26, 2024 (KST), in its latest video update, shows host Choi Hwa Jung welcomed the actor into his home where he cooked for him. During dinner with the host, Song Joong Ki talked about his married life and revealed that he spends most of his time in Italy, where his wife grew up, when he’s not working.
I stay in Itaewon. I also have an office in Tuscany, on the outskirts of Rome, Italy. I live there with my wife. Since my wife has lived in Italy her whole life, we stay there when I’m not working on anything.

The actor also said that while his children are growing up speaking Italian, he is working on learning the language while his wife is working on Korean. He explained that his wife has been great at learning Korean and that she also speaks Korean to her parents.
My son starts talking and says things in Italian. And there are times when I don’t understand what he’s saying. This put some pressure on me, so I’m studying Italian.
My wife on the other hand is learning Korean. His language skills are incredible; learn so fast. He also says things like: “Uhmeon (mother-in-law), come and eat at my mom’s. It’s not perfect*, but isn’t it adorable?
*Song Joong Ki says he’s not “perfect” because he mentions his wife speaking in casual Korean, not honorific.

At one point, Song Joong Ki worried that he was talking too much about his wife, but he continued, emphasizing that she “deserves to be bragged about.” In fact, the actor went on to praise how good-natured and kind-hearted his wife is, and how she is “reprimands” him every time he acts out of place!
I am Korean, but my wife places even more importance on manners and character than I do, so I often get scolded. Once, my manager had something to bring me, so he came to me. I ended up making him wait for about 20 minutes because I was somewhere else. After I was done and he left, she sat me down and put me in my place. He said, “Who do you think you are to keep someone waiting?” So it definitely reminds me how to be a good person.
