On December 25, 2024, SBS Gayo Daejeon took place at Inspire Arena in Yeongjong-do, Incheon. With the theme “Merry Freaky Christmas”, the event was hosted by NCT’s Doyoung, IVE’s Ahn Yu-jin, and TXT’s Yeonjun.
The 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon special section “X-MAS Fantasy” began with the cover of “Show Me Your Love (TVXQ & Super Junior)” by RIIZE’s Sungchan and Anton, followed by the powerful performance of “Shoot Out” (MONSTA X) by Kim Ji-woong and Park Gun-wook by ZEROBASEONE.
After that, aespa’s Karina and IVE’s Ahn Yu-jin appeared on stage and showed a fantastic collaborative performance of Valerie Broussard’s song “Killer”. As both are leaders of the most popular fourth-generation girl groups, Karina and Ahn Yu-jin attracted a lot of attention last year by participating together in IVE’s “Baddie” and aespa’s “Drama” challenges. Reuniting after a year, the highly anticipated duo delivered a captivating performance with their fatal charm that the audience couldn’t take their eyes off them.
Before their stage, SBS Gayo Daejeon posted a video of Karina and Ahn Yu-jin doing a little skit together. In the video, Karina said: “I like people with nice dimples, and she was exactly that kind of person.”. And Yu-jin added, “Isn’t it natural for a puppy to be attracted to a cat?”
Meanwhile, Karina recently went viral for the solo song “UP” that she performed at the aespa concert. As the song topped various music charts, the female idol once again demonstrated her potential as a solo artist.
On February 3rd, IVE will release their third EP album “IVE EMPATHY”. Before releasing the album, the group will premiere the title song on the 13th of next month.
