Actor Lee Jung Hyun recently talked about him seeking a job opportunity at Kia Motors, leaving fans completely confused about his future in the entertainment industry.
The actor took to his personal Instagram on Dec. 23, KST, to reveal that he has applied for the manufacturing engineer position at Kia Motors. But his request was rejected by the company.
Lee shared the rejection message on his Instagram with a caption: “Rejected. Merry Christmas.Your application for the position of “2024 Engineer (Production) New Hire” was rejected at the document screening stage.
Kia Motors began accepting applications for the position on December 5. According to its talent recruiting website, those selected for the job will work on the automobile assembly line, assembling car components and performing quality checks and adjustments.
Lee’s post revealing his rejection left fans baffled and wondering if he was hinting at his retirement from acting. His agency, Directors of actorsresponded to these concerns on Dec. 24, KST. In a statement, the agency reassured that Lee was not hinting at retiring from acting.
It’s not about preparing for retirement. It is simply part of the actor’s personal efforts to enjoy new challenges.

The agency also added that Lee has always been passionate about pursuing different skills even before debuting as an actor. They made it clear that he applied for the position with complete sincerity and shared the rejection on his social media because it was so upsetting to him. They also pointed out that his decision to take on the role of engineer had no influence on his acting career and mentioned that he was filming for New recruit 3. His other filming schedules also remain unchanged at the moment.
