Song Mino faces allegations of preferential treatment: workplace changed to 14-minute walk, flexible parking and 10am start time

Allegations emerged that his construction site was being moved closer to his home and that he was being given special parking privileges.

On December 23, former entertainment journalist Lee Jin-ho of YouTube uploaded a video titled “Is Song Mino a celestial being? I visited his workplace where he reportedly drives a supercar to work“.

Lee Jin-ho began by addressing Song Mino’s long hair, “In the past, regulations for public service personnel specified that hair should not cover eyebrows, ears or shirt collars, and that excessive hairstyles, earrings or dyeing that would cause discomfort were prohibited. However, the rule has since changed to only state that “appearance and dress must be neat.” Although there are no specific restrictions on hair length now, there is a significant discrepancy between the neat appearance rule and Song Mino’s actual appearance.

He then explored the “invisible benefits” linked to the reassignment of the Song Mino construction site.

He explained: “Public service workers are sometimes assigned to workplaces close to their residences, which may explain why Song Mino’s first assignment was the Seoul Mapo Facility Management Corporation, just 2.1 kilometers from his home. However, in March this year, his place of work was suddenly changed to Mapo Resident Convenience Facility, which is even closer to his residence.”

Lee Jin-ho remarked: “The system allows public service workers to request reassignment, but it is not something easily accessible to everyone.” He added: “A source said Song Mino had initially been deemed unfit for public service and had been recommended for leave. However, Song Mino reportedly refused, saying he wanted to fulfill his service obligations. This determination led to his reassignment, presumably due to difficulty adjusting to his initial supervisor and psychological stress.”

Underlining the proximity of the new workplace, Lee Jin-ho said: “The first construction site was 22 minutes by public transport from his home. The new one is just one bus stop away, a distance that takes just 14 minutes on foot.

Lee Jin-ho also pointed out parking privileges, “Despite living just a 2-3 minute drive away, Song Mino commuted by car and parked at the property, which has only 26 parking spaces excluding compact car spaces. Site staff cited a chronic lack of parking. However, Song Mino consistently arrived at 10am and secured a spot. If he were an ordinary person and not a celebrity, would it have been possible to be reassigned to an ideal location, maintain such freedom in appearance and monopolize limited parking spaces for 7-8 hours a day? These points raise significant questions.”
