December 21st KBS Gayo Daechukje Global Festival 2024 it took place with the participation of various groups.
Many of these groups perform special shows for the end-of-year event, including aespa. The four-member girl group performed “Armageddon” and “Whiplash,” starting the show with a special introduction.
The performance also included a dance break at the end of “Whiplash,” then transitioned into “Armageddon.” (starting at 3.35pm)
The clip was reposted on X, where netizens weighed in on the performance.
Many reactions were extremely critical of the dance performance, citing timing and “lack of stage presence” as reasons.

On the other hand, the group’s event video is the second most viewed on KBS’s official YouTube channel, showing how many showed up to see their performance. According to one analytics site, the video also has fewer than 500 dislikes, compared to more than 47,000 likes.
Comments on the YouTube video are also more positive, with many praising the group for their overall performance. Many specifically mention the group’s stage presence positively, along with their vocal performance.
Meanwhile, aespa will perform at SBS Music Awards (also known as SBS Gayo Daejeon) on Christmas Day.
