On December 21, 2024 (KST), SBS hosted its annual “Drama Awards,” honoring the outstanding talents and productions of 2024. And it was at the “SBS Drama Awards 2024” that the singer-turned-actress Jang Na Ra rewrote history.
Jang, who made her singing debut in May 2001, made her acting debut two months later with a small role in New Nonstop. Her successes as a singer were well celebrated from the beginning, with her Sweet dreams numerous album awards in 2002, including KBS‘sand MBC‘S Daesang prize…
…but her acting career hadn’t been as recognized. That is, until the “SBS Drama Awards 2024”.
After 23 long years of efforts as an actress, Jang finally received a Grand Prize for her leading role in K-Drama Good partner.
That said, Jang has now become the first and only person to have won both Music Awards Daesang and a drama award Daesang!
Understandably, Jang was emotional when she accepted the award.
I… I can’t believe this is happening, I don’t know what to say. First, I would like to thank God, my Heavenly Father, for continuing to give me life when I am nothing. Some of the most incredible things have happened to me this year at SBS. I’m so grateful for that. And without the good partners, literally, that I met through Good partner, I wouldn’t be here. So thank you.
I would like to thank the screenwriter, director and cinematographer who helped me believe in myself and my acting. I would also like to thank the staff and other cast members, Joon Han, Ji Hoon, Je Hee and Seung Hyun… Baby Yoon Ah left early, but I thank her too. And I’m so grateful to Nam Ji Hyun, the pillar of this series and my rock. I was able to achieve a lot, thanks to his presence. It’s been a real blessing for me and for the series. A thousand thanks.
I actually wasn’t prepared for this talk, so I’m afraid I’ll forget to mention someone.

If I had known and understood it earlier it would have been better. But the fact that people who don’t even know my face like me? The fact that people who don’t know me watch the shows I create… All of this is a tremendous miracle. As I grew up, I realized this more and more and, along with gratitude, I also felt a lot of guilt.
