GOT7 fans discover the deeper meaning of the new album’s title

Previously, GOT7 have announced their planned return date for the new year, their first in nearly three years. The new album will be released on January 20th!

Yesterday, GOT7 released their first concept image ahead of their comeback, revealing all seven members in a moody group photo. The caption also confirms that the official return time is Monday, January 20 at 6pm (KST).

The notification sent a lot of Ahgas into a tizzy, as we were all waiting for a group photo. Many have shared their enthusiastic reactions and theories via social media.

Now, GOT7 have revealed the title of their new mini album, Winter heptagon. It will be released through Kakao Entertainment.

The album has two versions: “Winter” and “Heptagon”. Pre-orders began on December 20, and many have received pre-order benefits.

Ahgases did research, realizing that the “winter heptagon” is a phenomenon when Mars joins the famous winter hexagon, thus forming an asterism (recognizable star patterns that are not constellations) around Betelgeuse. Additionally, when the heptagon element is discarded, the seven brightest stars visibly form a “G” in the sky.

This phenomenon is also reminiscent of the original GOT7 logo. Thus, Ahga believes that, once again, GOT7 are “reclaiming” their origins.

As for the stars, some Ahga have even determined which star each member represents based on the group’s formation. For example, leaders Jay B would be Aldebaran, the beginning of “G”, while Jinyoung it is Betelgeuse, the end but also the center. This makes a lot of sense since GOT7 started with their own group of units, JJ Project.

Everything GOT7 is doing has so much meaning and symbolism! Read more below.
