In 2012, Seolhyun she made her big debut as an idol with the girl group AOAbut she also made her acting debut with KBSIt’s K-Drama My daughter Seoyoung. Given her experience on stage and screen for more than a decade, Seolhyun is undoubtedly one of the most successful idol-turned-actresses in the field.
But since 2019, his stage activities effectively stopped after AOA released their sixth mini album, New Moonin November. That being said, what are Seolhyun’s thoughts on the extended “hiatus” as an idol?
In an interview with NewsSeolhyun admitted that she has no plans to go back to idolizing—at least not for now.

Seolhyun added that, for her, “It is important to continue to act consistently without taking long breaks” to keep his connection with acting strong.

Noting that she would like to find more composure and improve her acting skills in her next 30s, Seolhyun looked forward to another successful year as a reliable actress in the K-Drama and K-Movie scene.
When I was active as an idol, I could take the lead in my work. I might be involved in structuring the album, creating it and deciding when it will be released. But as an actress, I can’t work unless I’m cast. I have to be called to accept a role and I have to adapt to the shooting schedule. At first all this made me uncomfortable. But over time I learned to manage my fears and truly rest. Since I had a good year this year, I think I can have another good year next year too!
