Starship Entertainment has updated its legal proceedings against malicious posts and defamation claims against IVE.
On December 19, Starship released an official statement addressing the negativity IVE has experienced online. The agency highlighted some harassment such as defamation, spreading false news, personal insults and slander.
It also communicated that such actions are considered serious crimes and that the company has taken legal action with the help of a specialized law firm. Starship added that several criminal complaints have been filed at the Gangnam Police Station.
Once evidence has been successfully forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, the investigation and monitoring of these illegal acts in online communities and platforms will continue. Starship also noted that they are awaiting further legal proceedings.
“Defamation, insults and the dissemination of false information about our artists constitute clear criminal acts. We have gathered substantial evidence and remain committed to pursuing all possible legal avenues against violators without leniency or the possibility of settlement.”
Starship Entertainment continues:
“To ensure the safety and well-being of our artists, we are providing them with professional advice and support. At the same time, we will continue to monitor and respond to harmful acts to ensure the protection of our artists and their rights.”
“We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support and valuable information provided by our fans, which have helped us greatly in addressing these matters. We kindly request your continued vigilance and cooperation. Once again, we extend our sincere gratitude to all fans for being alongside IVE and Starship Entertainment.”
