This lead dancer has fans riled up with his improvements — here’s the hilarious reason

Day6 Sungjin has become a hot topic online for his improved dancing skills.

On December 18, TWICE released new entries of their “STRATEGY” dance challenge with fellow JYP artist Sungjin.

In the video, the Day6 member is shocked with his moves, shaking the lethal parts of the girl group’s new song. His exuding confidence and groove also left viewers in awe.

The band member is known as the leader, lead singer and guitarist of Day6. However, he is also the group’s unofficial lead dancer. Principal dancers are often the best dancers or those most responsible for the dancing parts of their songs.

However, in Sungjin’s case it is different. He was initially given this title by fans simply because of his hilarious and unserious passion for dancing. Since Day6 is a band, they are not required to dance; so it’s understandable. But fans can’t help but turn it into a meme.

Since the rise of dance challenges, Sungjin’s collaboration with other artists was adored by fans and although he kept messing up the beat, it was recognizable to fans who couldn’t dance.

But following her recent dance challenge with TWICE, theqoo netters are thrilled with her improvement, which they say has been somewhat “shocking.”

“I felt betrayed. Because I did it [he] improve?” said one fan.

“I feel upset because she danced so well,” another supporter said.

“Is this the same person who took lessons from JYP for three years but the dance teacher gave up?” teased another.

Initially, Sungjin trained for 3 years to become a dance idol, but JYP created Day6 to focus on his voice instead.

Even though fans are happy with his improved skills, they can’t help but miss the Sungjin they used to make fun of. Seeing the new clips, they jokingly asked him to go back to beginner level, according to the comments.

“I’m sorry I made you feel sad, but can’t you stay like this?” one commenter asked.

“Sungjin, don’t lose your original intention, I’m angry,” another fan added.

“He’s like my dad, he does all kinds of things (no offense),” one netizen wrote.
