BTS’ Jungkook expresses concern about the future of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (artificial intelligence) has become a hot topic in recent years. Some are in favor of it because of its efficiency and “creativity”, while others are against it for many reasons. Some are worried about how this will affect the job market, as it “steals” jobs from others and takes advantage of the work of real artists.

However, social media accounts are dedicated solely to creating and posting AI-generated song covers featuring the voice of the BTS membership has increased dramatically. Most ARMYs don’t agree with this. Some who support these covers argue that they have become relatively common, and fans of other artists do as well. On the other hand, those who object to these covers believe that not only does it infringe on the artists’ intellectual property, but by feeding their voices into an artificial intelligence program, fans are inevitably contributing to future situations where these tools can be used to harmful purposes.

Most BTS members have not addressed the issue directly. However, ARMYs took RM lyrics in “All Day ft. Table” as a suggestion of where he and BTS might stand morally on this issue.

Today, BTS Jungkook spoke briefly about AI covers while surprising ARMYs with an unexpected live broadcast via Weverse for the first time since his mandatory military enlistment.

Jungkook spent some of his free time with ARMYs because he missed them. He gave them updates on life before singing karaoke.

Jungkook has sung some of his own hit songs, as well as those of others, such as BLACKPINK Rosé AND Bruno Marte’ “APT.”

Jungkook also spoke briefly about his labelmate ILLIT hit song, “Magnetic” and The girls’ generation Taeyeon’s “AX”

One of the reasons he performed the above songs was that he noticed the covers of the songs, as if he had sung them himself. So, he wanted ARMYs to hear the real thing.

Jungkook acknowledged that the original artist’s voice sounded better, but believed that his real voice sounded better than the AI’s. However, he expressed concern about how artificial intelligence will make it harder for people to find jobs.

‘Magnetic?’ I know people liked the AI cover… should I try it? Will I be able to beat the AI version? Get it! Honestly, I don’t think it will be long before it becomes more impossible to distinguish AI recordings. We’re in trouble. It’s all going down. So we will all lose our jobs. How’s the song going again? [Starts singing] Should I look for some of my AI covers? Should we play ‘Beat The AI?’

ARMYs naturally agreed with Jungkook’s concerns. They believe it is “dangerous” to feed BTS members’ voices into AI systems.

Previously, Jungkook shared that he found “no sincerity” in the AI. Read more below.
